Invisalign
Invisalign straightens teeth with a sequence of clear, removable aligners changed every one to two weeks. Most courses run between six and eighteen months depending on how far the teeth need to move. A digital 3D scan with our iTero scanner at your consultation shows the expected result before you commit.
What it is and who it's for
Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of clear, custom-made, removable aligners that gently move your teeth over time. It suits adults and teenagers who want straighter teeth without fixed brackets and wires, and who are prepared to wear their aligners for most of the day.

Common questions
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign uses a series of custom, clear, removable aligners that gently move your teeth into position, changed roughly every one to two weeks. A digital 3D scan with our iTero scanner at consultation shows the plan before you commit.
How long does treatment take?
Most courses run 9 to 12 months on average, though depending on the individual case, Invisalign treatment can take anywhere from 6 to 18 months.
Will wearing my aligners be painful?
Not painful, no. Invisalign is one of the more comfortable ways to straighten teeth, though you may notice some tightness or mild discomfort whenever you move onto a new set of aligners, roughly every one to two weeks. That soon fades as your teeth settle into the new position.
Do I need to wear the aligners all the time?
To stay on plan, aligners need to be worn for at least 22 hours a day. They only come out to eat and drink anything other than water.
Is Invisalign noticeable?
The aligners are virtually invisible and fit closely over your teeth, so most people won’t know you’re wearing them.
Is Invisalign safe to wear?
Yes. Invisalign aligners are made from medical-grade, FDA-approved SmartTrack material, which is safe for use inside the mouth.
Will I still be able to talk with my aligners?
Yes. Your aligners are thin and light, so there’s a short adjustment period while your tongue gets used to them, but once that settles, you’ll be speaking as you normally would. Most patients find this happens sooner than they expect.
Do you offer a free Invisalign consultation?
Yes. Your first Invisalign consultation is free, secured with a £25 deposit. If you decide to go ahead after that, you’ll come in for a new patient examination, and from there we plan your treatment before your aligners are made.
